My teaching style is very hands-on. I believe in practical knowledge and showing students several different ways to understand something. I also believe in providing students the opportunity to figure out solutions to problems on their own with encouragement, instead of just having them copy what I say. The most important element of achieving success in school is self confidence. The way I help build that in children is by being extremely positive, supportive, and full of praise. I observe their behavior carefully to make sure they truly understand what they are being taught. When something is challenging to a child, I try different methods until I know it “clicked”.
