A Little Bit About Me...

I don't know if you could say that I have a "style" but I am all about seeing what they know first and giving them hints here and there so that they come to the understanding on their own and if it is needed I can show them how to do it and help them replicate it.
I have a love for learning and helping others learn. I am currently in college to become an Elementary School teacher and I have really emphasized on math. I took honors math classes all through high school and I have enjoyed being able to study math and help others understand as well. I also have a love for piano. I am well studied in the classics and am willing to teach modern techniques as well.

I feel an immense amount of satisfaction and accomplishment when one of my of students has that "A-HA" moment and what I just explained to them makes complete sense. I am a retired FBI Agent, with both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctorate. As an Agent, I learned to speak fluent Russian and speak it to this day. Since retirement six years ago I have been tutoring and coaching my son, who is handicapped. He is highly intelligent but learns a little bit differently, so I have worked hard with him to teach him to read, learn math and grammar. He cannot write, so everything he learns is by memory. I worked with Special Ed kids with reading, writing, and math. I tutored my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years of high school. I have most of my certifications in the medical field, but i also graduated High school a semester early and with enough credits to be a sophomore in college. I do prefer to work with elementary school kids, but would also work with middle school as well. I have been raised to know education is the most important thing in ones life.
