I am currently working part time as a ski instructor with children. This has taught me to be patient with the development of my students. It is incredibly important to maintain an atmosphere where learning is fun. I am certified by Oxford seminars to teach english as a second language. During the classes we studied general techniques for teaching english, that can be used for native speakers as well. I am a firm believer that there are all different types of learners, and thus teaching styles should adapt to the individuals needs.

My teaching style is relaxed, but focused. I believe all children can be natural learners, especially when they find something that interests them. Patience is the key with children. Every child has their own pace and learning style. Some are very visual learners while others need to be able to be more hands-on. It is very rewarding helping someone succeed.
I am a former UConn graduate (1984) with a BS in Marketing. Many of my electives were in mathematics, enabling me to work as a student tutor on campus. I have also completed coursework in anatomy and physiology.
