A Little Bit About Me...

I will work with the children to fit their needs in the subject. My teaching style usually blends in with the child's learning ability.
English and elementary skills are my best field. I had a college level english when I was in 8th grade. Math is an okay subject for elementary but I'm not the best at algrebra or higher. My spelling skills and writing skills are excellent. Like I have said before my total english level was a college level when I was in 8th grade. If you need help with your english or science it's a really good idea to come to me with it.

High school was a blast, and I loved every moment!! I was the history buff, drama geek, grammar police and still am to this day. I did High School plays every year in High School, scored perfect on the English portion of my ACT, was a teachers aide for my History and English teacher, wrote for the school paper, studied Journalism, Drama, English and History as hobbies in High School as well as Photography and the Arts.

I am a bi-linual tutor. I have worked for the migrant education program in the federal programs department of the Jonesboro Public School district since August of 2008. Before that I taught ELL courses for Brookland Public Schools. I was adult education tutor for student support services at Arkansas State University and East Arkansas Community College. I am graduating in May with my BA in Chemistry. I will continue school in the fall in hopes of entering the nursing program. I have helped several students with high school algebra, junior high algebra, as well as college algebra. I have helped non-traditional students not only pass but receive A's and B's in their math classes after not having a math class for 20 or more years. I have helped kids with special needs (such as autism) pass college level courses as well.
I love helping people and do my best to explain everything in detail. Math and chemistry come easier to me than others, and I understand this. That is why I take my time and do not get frustrated. Anyone can learn; you just have to figure out what is their best learning style and adapt for them to learn. I have always loved helping people, and I feel tutoring is a rewarding process.
