Every student learns differently but they all respond to a few tricks I've learned. Positive feedback helps all student gain confidence and reduce their frustration while learning. Examples are key to almost every tutoring session, the trick is knowing what example to use. Leading the student to find the answer themself builds their confidence and increases understanding. I have more than 5 years experience as a substitute teacher at almost every level. I have had the opportunity to also serve as a long term substitute teacher. I also have 1 year of experience teaching at a pre-school level, 2.5 years teaching at a post-secondary level, and a semester of tutoring a middle school student. I have also taken course work in Differentiated Instruction. All of these experiences have given me the skills needed to be a successful teacher. Teaching at several levels allows me to adapt my teaching to the learning level of the student.
