Speaking is one of my top subjects! I am very experienced in public speaking. I have taken college level classes on public speaking. I have also held many leadership positions which require me to speak to many people in public settings.

I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I am a student leader and have been for the past two years. I am currently Student Body President of IU Kokomo and represent over 3,000 students. Past leadership expereices include being psychology club treadurer and president, orientation leader, and student senator. I have supplemented my college education by working on a behavioral/mental health unit. I have also done research with one of IU Kokomo's psychology professors, and am currently a teaching assistant for another psychology professor.

As the daughter of an educator, I not only grew up understanding that every child could learn, but that every child deserved a sincere smile. Taught college courses on a part-time basis from 1976 to 2006. These various courses included accounting, business math, real estate, budgeting, strategic planning, starting a business, public speaking, investments, government accounting, principles of supervision, human resource development, auditing, and taxation. While teaching I eventually retired from the US Air Force, and from US Civil Service. I have been working in commercial banking for the past two years. Through my every day work experience I deal with a lot of accounting and financial statement analysis and spreading. I also further my education in accounting by taking classes offered at Anderson University.
My teaching style is very casual. A Little Bit About Me...

In previous work evaluations my supervisor has described my teaching style as "Experiential". I have a passion to teach with example and hands on practial skills. I created a game in which to teach parents and children how to get rid of their "hang ups". My motto is "Reaching Higher" and I thoroughly enjoy helping a child or adolescent reach higher to understand their full potential. It is an "ah ha" moment for both myself and an individual that I might be teaching, when they "arrive" at that point, to reveal their own learning style.
