A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very much one of observation and tailoring lessons to fit the student best. I typically use one series of method books, but sometimes choose other repertoire outside of the curriculum in order to best teach the student in the area that they need. I have had students with Asperger's syndrome (a form of autism) and dyslexia.I have also taught all age groups, ranging from 4 years to 65 years. Whether I am chosen as a teacher by the student for academic reasons, to prepare for a talent show, or fulfill an entry on their bucket list, I strive to show true interest in their learning and provide the best explanations and most creative lessons I can.

After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. During the past two years, I have taught 10 sections of miscellaneous classes, covering 5 different courses. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students are visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners, or a combination of all three.
