I have a passion for science and learning. I love to take my passion and pass it on to my children. My method of teaching is to take difficult concepts and break them down into something that is understandable. I will not quit until I feel that the children have a good grasp of the material. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching philosophy centers on individual learning. The first priority is to determine what method is best for getting an individual to process information. The second step is then to breakdown the material and removing the myth that a traditionally challenging course is simply a "myth" and depends solely on the effort given by the student. I utilize a variety of methods (models, flash cards, simplified mechanisms, acronyms, etc) that help simplify the complex material that is presented in lecture. I truly believe that every student has the ability to pass organic chemistry and any course when appropriate attention is given, especially through proper tutoring.

An effective teacher works with this while exercising patience, care and consideration for students as they guide them to subject mastery. My preferred method of teaching is show and do. I show the technique or concept, and then give the student a chance to practice and demonstrate that they understand. The student learns best when they can find or develop the answer themselves.
