A Little Bit About Me...

My philosophy of education is a student centered one. I strongly relate to the adage of serving as the “guide on the side” rather than the “sage on the stage.” I believe in focusing on individual needs, involving and motivating the students in the process of their learning. Their individual differences need to be recognized, respected, and even celebrated. I believe that all students have strengths, and that it is the goal of the teacher to assist them to identify and build upon these. To the world, a teacher might be just one person, but to one person a teacher just might be the world.
After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English, I married and worked at support jobs while helping to raise our two children. A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy helping children and teenagers discover new things through education. I am the oldest of five children and I have helped my siblings in practically every subject area over the last 10 years. I am a very patient because I know that everyone has different learning styles. Once a child's learning method is identified, he or she will really start to meet their potential.
I graduated in 2007 from the University of Arkanas with a degree in Political Science. Currently I am a legislative analyst for the state of Arkansas and work daily with legislators to pass legislation. I also have experience teaching conversational English as a Second Language overseas to Chinese English-teachers. My strengths are writing research papers and essays. I have extensive experience with government and any social sciences.
