I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began my teaching career at a small elementary school in Maine. While there I worked with students ranging from ages five to fifteen. Some of my more memorable experiences were working with second and third grade students who required reading interventions. I also had the chance to work with junior high students in more traditional reading and writing groups. During each of my four semesters as a graduate student at UMaine I have been responsible for teaching one section of college composition. I require students to use writing to develop analyses of readings, to compose, experiment with, and revise responses to those readings, and to create focused academic arguments based on those readings.
