Social studies tutor that makes learning fun!

I love to teach, and making learning fun is my main goal. If learning isn't fun then the students get bored. Keeping it interesting is my style most kids love it!
I am a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University with a B.A. in History. I am currently enrolled in my Masters in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University Online. In addition I am in the process of becoming certified in New York State in Social Studies 7-12. In addition I have 10 plus years of Customer Service experience, and I am currently a Substitute Teacher at Northern Adirondack Central School grades k-12. My experience has led me to expertise in teaching math, psychology, English and history. I have worked with students from Kindergarten to adult age. At the high school level, preparation for transition to college, training or work has been an additional area that I have provided expertise.

I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.
I have been working for a local High School for 3 years now as an instructional assistant. Currently I have 3 math classes. I have 2 pre-algebra classes and one geometry. I basically help students mostly 1:6. I have 8 math students that I work with. Last year I was a course assistant for a college freshman-year math course in theoretical math at Harvard University. I am enrolling in a PhD program in pure math at the University of Texas, Austin, where I will have a 16-hour-per week teaching load including three sections of undergraduate calculus.
