A Little Bit About Me...

I began my ASL education in high school. In December of 2014 will have completed my A.A. in American Sign Language at Montgomery College in Rockville MD. During these years at Montgomery College I have volunteered for many interpreting opportunities. I have interpreted two movies for my professor, interpreted presentations lead by guest speakers at Montgomery College and I interpreted a musical called Breast In Show (October 2014). I have spent the last seven years teaching children how to swim. Aiding my swim coaching, I have volunteered at Elementary Schools as teachers aids and learned many styles of tutoring.

Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I was born and raised deaf, in a deaf family. Attended Maryland School for the Deaf and Gallaudet University.

I am a well experienced tutor, since this is something I've been doing since the seventh grade. I also am proficient in language itself; I took courses in linguistics during college. My boyfriend has his Masters in American Sign Language and I work as a tutor on campus (I tutor English and foreign students learning ASL). I am very knowledgeable about ASL and Deaf culture. I have and am living in it, though.
