I am a recent graduate from Hope College and have my bachelor's degree in sociology. Since graduating, I have now gained tremendous experience in TEFL as I went to China to be an ESL English teacher and private tutor for 6 months. I have always loved teaching and working with kids. I have volunteered at a number of places that allowed me to exercise my ability to tutor and mentor children ages 5-17. Since high school, I have volunteered at a local preschool. This past summer, I spent time in Honduras teaching English at an orphanage. I have a very concrete understanding of English and Spanish grammar, and I have spent the last four years studying writing at Grand Valley State University.
I believe that the teacher's most important job is to present material in a way that makes learning fun and interesting.
