I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in English-Writing. Throughout my classes, I have honed the skills of writing and communicating effectively, whether it be creatively or analytically, as well as expanded my knowledge of literature by taking classes such as Shakespeare and 20th Century British Literature. I am a very well-read person who has a leaning toward classic authors such as Bronte, Dumas,and Hemingway. I completed a senior honors thesis, which was 70 pages of analyzing the works of J.R.R. I believe that the teacher's most important job is to present material in a way that makes learning fun and interesting. Everyone learns best in different ways, and it is important to remember this when tutoring or teaching. Whereas some learn best with visualizations, others learn by listening. I love finding new and creative ways to present a lesson or concept. I have a passion for teaching and hope to be an educator for the rest of my life.

A Little Bit About Me...

During the past 5 years I have been a substitute teacher for Kentwood Public Schools and Excel Charter School in both elementary and high school classes. This experience has given me insight into what I feel is necessary for students to prepare for the future i.e college, skilled labor, technology etc. I have administered tests to evaluate pupil progress and issue reports to parents to discuss student progress and any problems that may exist.
