I have my BA in social science and a Master's in counseling. I have been in the field of education for twenty years. I have taught in mostly middle and high school and am currently teaching psychology at Mid Michigan Community College. I have worked with youth in many different capacities. I have worked with 4-H, public schools, college, and volunteered in many areas. I am dedicated to and passionate about education and the process of learning. I have good realtionships with my students and they trust that I have their best interests at hand. While I understand that learning is serious, it should also be fun. A Little Bit About Me...

For the past 30 years, I have worked with special needs students. I believe that students learn at their educational level. The problem with education today, is that students are often in classrooms that stress learning at their frustration level. Many students are in general ed settings, but are forced to use materials that they do not fully understand. In my role as a teacher consultant, I adapted materials so the students could understand it. If chosen as a tutor, I would do the same so the students would learn at their education level.
I am a retired special ed teacher. I worked with Learning Disabled, Emotionally Impaired, Cognitively Impaired, and Austistic students primarily in the high school. During my undergraduate studies I tutored at Delta College's Teaching/Learning Center for almost 2 years. While working there I received an award for Tutor of the Year. Delta College being a community college with a wide range of students I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. I focused mainly in the areas of Mathematics and Computer Science. Since my job at Delta College I have also tutored privately.
I like to approach tutoring on an individual basis. I like to learn what works best for each student and help them understand a subject in the way which best suits them.
