I have a BS in Mathematical Biology from U of M Ann Arbor. I held a 3.61 math GPA. I have experience tutoring highschool students in algebra II as well as college students in calculus and statistics. During the last four years I have tutored students in Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus II, and Statistics.
My teaching style varies from student to student. However, the basic foundation is the same. I like to develop the fundamentals and build a foundation on top of them. For example, to help a geometry student understand the significance of the area of a prizm, I asked him to consider how much paint he needs to buy if he wants to re-paint his room. A max/min calculus solution can help select the minimum fence length to create the largest yard for a dog. I also try to approach teaching the same concept from several different angles. Each student will have their own process of internalizing a specific concept and it's just a matter of finding the right path to get him or her to understand.
