As a long-term adjunct instructor, I have successfully cultivated an effective set of best teaching practices relative to the English language and Communications. I make every conscious attempt to relate to my students as individuals and to meet their educational needs. I am currently enrolled in the Speech Language Pathology graduate program at Northeastern State University (NSU). In the program we are getting hands on training with one on one therapy/tutoring with students/clients in reading, grammar, phonics, and language skills. While in graduate school, I have written very many research papers and essays.

Teaching has been a motivation for me for all of my working life. I have experienced the joys of my student's successes at the high school level and then on to their university courses or in their own work experiences. It is important to explain and have students experience learning from a number of different angles. Each day involves reading, speaking, listening and writing in the target language. I have been working with the public for over 20 years, in that time I have worked with young adults as well as mature adults. I have also done some substitute teaching in elementary and high school levels. My experience is in food service and have dealt with many walks of life. I am a very committed member of Lincoln Kiwanis International as well as a member of the Central United Methodist Church. While I was a student at the University of Missouri I received a 5 hour A in Chemistry.
