I seek to bring understanding to and appreciation for math.

Naturally, I aim to bring understanding to the problems/topics at hand. I also make sure to "fill-in-the-blanks" and bring understanding to any lacking pre-requisite knowledge.
I have been tutoring for over 5 years, both privately and with businesses. My comments on tutoring Algebra : Algebra is my strongest subject in math, and I can help students in Algebra 1 exceptionally well. I took Algebra 1 back in 8th grade, and ever since then have been using the basic concepts taught in Algebra 1 in varying fields of math. Algebra is also my favorite subject in math and I enjoy helping my peers in Algebra more than any other subject.

I am a recent graduate of Rosamond High School. During my time there I took math all the way up to AP Calculus. I took the AP test, and am awaiting the results. I have a refined mathematical aptitude, and strong people skills. I may haven never tutored professionally, but I have helped many of my peers understands challenging mathematical concepts. Whenever someone was stumped they would come to me for help. Many of my peers tell me that I helped them get a high grade on a certain test or even in the class.
When teaching a student, i try to help them understand the concept of the lesson before trying to explain the procedure. Once i have explained the concept to them, I show them how to work out the problem. Once I have walked them through a few problems, I let them try to do a couple on their own, until they get stuck. My comments on tutoring Algebra : I am a high school student and I've taken algebra during my first year. Although, I have not taken the class for years, math is cumulative and the building blocks start in elementary. In school, I consider math as my strongest subject.

I like to take what they know, help them understand it a little more, then apply it. I walk them through different questions they encounter and then watch them try it for themselves. If they make a mistake, I help them understand what went wrong and how to fix it. I am very hands on and I like to reward them with encouraging comments.
Although, I'm still a high school student, I've helped many students in my class with understanding what they were taught. I've been told by a lot of my friends that I should become a teacher. I love teaching, and if it had a higher salary pay, that would be my career choice. I've been helping kids with math before I realized that I was helping them. I love it when they understand it and their face just lights up.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring experience isn't really too official. I mostly just help people with College Algebra around the dorms. I am pretty good with teaching and helping with math, and could probably do it at a High School level. Not actually having a BS probably will just limit me to high school tutoring.
