My teaching style could be described as modified Montessorian, in an attempt to appeal to all the senses, and to affect the learning channels of each student as a unique individual. Encouragement is lavished on even the adult students, and not all errors are equally vital to correct on an immediate basis. After a year of international studies, I returned to Journalism as a reporter for a Spanish-language daily in San Diego. It was not until March 2007 that I finally was given the opportunity to teach as a tutor and later as a substitute at Denver School of Science and Technology in Spanish. Since graduating from the University of Albuquerque, I have worked in the New Mexico Governor's Office and been a guide for a Santa Fe outdoor museum. I also worked at the History Library, which is part of the Museum of New Mexico's Palace of the Governors Museum. In 1993, I was trained in English as a Second Language by Literacy Volunteers of America. I taught English in Japan in 1995. I volunteered as a teacher with the Emily Griffith Opportunity School's ESL program for three years. I have had numerous private ESL students over the past 17 years. Most recently, I spent five months tutoring a German couple in English. I now help two Chinese American boys with their reading and arithmetic.

Securing a BS in Political Science was a process that allowed me to examine a comprehensive body of knowledge that deals with the structure of our country, our belief systems, and our government. Having recently graduated from UCDHSC’s MBA program with an Entrepreneurial track, I leave the university equipped with a new set of skills.
