I am open to all teaching styles, people learn in different ways so the teaching style that helps you this best is the teaching style I will use.
I believe in helping people that need help. So in college I began tutoring and started to do a bunch of community service projects. I have two years in tutoring experience. I tutor subjects such as algebra, pre-cal, biology, microbiology, world religion, psychology and the list continues. I have not had the experience in tutoring chemistry yet, I am currently taking organic chemistry and when I get finish chemistry courses that my college major requires I will begin to be a tutor for the subject. While substitute teaching various subjects, I discovered my hidden talent – making math understandable for youth. My other gifts include excellent grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. I don’t have a teacher’s certificate, however, and am currently choosing not to substitute, but I miss the personal interaction with students who want to learn.
Giving a student the answer does not facilitate their learning. My style of tutoring and teaching is to reinforce the basics, ask leading questions and give examples that assist the student discover the correct answers for him or herself.

I have tutored students ranging from ones with learning disabilities to adults who have returned to school, and everything in between. To tutor students, especially in mathematics, patience is a big factor. When tutoring, I do my best to constantly go over concepts stuck in the students head. Struggling students tend to fair better with examples and when things are explained in terms of what they understand. I do my best to break down the concepts in terms of what they already grasp.
