A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught in many different formats in both mathematics and physics. At Purdue University, I ran a physics laboratory class as well as did tutoring in a help center for physics. Afterwords I have also taught for ITT Tech where I taught an online physics course; IvyTech where I am currently teaching an algebra course; and the princeton review where I am teaching Physics for MCAT Students. Finally, I have done some at home tutoring for individuals in mathematics.
I enjoy the process of teaching itself. I find it a very rewarding experience to introduce others to a new and somewhat unusual way of looking at things when I teach about physics or mathematics. I enjoy tutoring, because I find that helping students learn, and perhaps come to appreciate something they find difficult, is a learning process for me as well. It is very rewarding to watch someone learn and understand something and to watch them become more independent in their studying. Also, I believe a tutor should be a good listener, so that they can better understand what each individual student needs. I strive to be an excellent listener and to be patient and understanding with my students. More About This Tutor...

While attending Danville Area Community College from 2003 to 2005, I tutored middle school and high school students through a program called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This included individual and group tutoring sessions in all subjects. I mostly tutored in mathematics as this is my specialty. After transferring to Eastern Illinois University, I began my pursuit of a teaching certificate in secondary education with my concentration in mathematics. While at EIU, I had many experiences teaching in a classroom setting. I also occasionally tutored high school and college students in both physics and math. After graduating with my Bachelors degree in mathematics, I tutored for a year at the college level.
