My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I taught developmental math and college math at two year colleges. As a test prep coach, I tutor math on a daily basis. This almost always involves some degree of pre-Algebra as students often need a review of the basics before moving on to more difficult mathematical concepts. I'm great at explaining basic math concepts in multiple ways, so students can fully grasp those concepts.

I am a tutor and test prep coach. I am KY and TN state certified in middle school math. I prepare students for the ACT and Praxis core and content exams, including the Praxis core (math, reading, and writing), Praxis 5018 (elementary education content knowledge), Praxis 5169 (middle school math), and Praxis 5001 (elementary education multiple subjects). I have been educating students for more than 20 years, teaching and tutoring at two and four year colleges and universities as well as offering test prep courses and one on one coaching. It is very important to assess what the student already knows and the level of understanding they hold at the beginning. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught.
