Physics is one of my top subjects!

- Understanding the topic in-depth rather than learning off random facts. - Make the class as easy and fun as possible.
I have currently finished 2nd-year Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick, Ireland. I love working with people and helping them in their studies and Musical interests. I have given classes on maths and physics before for high school and college-level students. These are topics I am really interested in and I want to help kids understand these topics better and develop a passion for it. I am also very interested in playing the keyboard. I was preparing kids for their Trinity keyboard grade exams in Ireland.

My comments on tutoring Physics : I was a physics minor as an undergraduate, and took numerous courses in basic physics, including a course in special relativity and the basics of quantum mechanics. I also took courses in applied physics, including thermodynamics, strength of materials, and statics. I can therefore show many of the applications of physics as well as teaching the fundamentals. I have taught physics at the college level, albeit only once for each of the first two semester. However, I have also tutored any number of physics students.

As a teacher and tutor, I focus on developing conceptual knowledge (rather than memorization), and structured study methods, problem-solving techniques, and test-taking skills, including post-test analyses of mistakes as a learning tool. I encourage the student to develop skills appropriate not only to the discipline, but to his or her own personal learning style. I like to use on-line interactive tutorials, especially with students who are highly visual or hands-on learners. At the same time, as a tutor,I like to interact with the student's instructor (and, where appropriate, the parents) to best serve his or her needs.
I have taught at three universities (The University of Michigan, Henry Ford Community College, and Lawrence Technological University) and tutored formally at two (Henry Ford Community College and Georgia Perimeter College). I have also tutored as an independent ... read more

I like working with students.i think that a tutor should review over the day to day lesson (course)with the student, practice the application and then treat the tasks with the gradual difficulties. The patience and the repetition are the keys of a successful tutoring.I think that the tutor must develop a certain feeling and a logic from his student towards the maths(base of the science). The achievement is to step the student into the teacher`s shoes in order to be able to well understand by himself.
I have always been good in science subject; My University`s Diploma (DEUG)in Chemistry and Geology made in French system and also my degree in Petroleum Engineering made in England(London) conferred to me a diversity of scientists knowledge. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching science and critical thinking skills. I like working with all ages, and am flexible with my teaching style based on who I am working with. Again I have been informally tutoring in Sciences for years, both in college with my fellow pre-medical students and throughout high school as well. I would love to work with children younger than me and get a feel for that. I am very patient though pretty demanding at the same time.

My German parents spoke (so-called "high", or proper) German at home in NY/NJ, which came in handy after we moved overseas when I was 13. Repeating 7th grade, I learned to read and write German fluently, as well as master the local dialects and sundry colloquialisms without a lingering accent. Doing so allowed me mask my heritage, enroll in higher education, and learn a trade, culminating in a long and rewarding all-encompassing painting career abroad and in the eastern US, before settling in Texas to explore telecommunications. I widely regard the world as a large classroom/laboratory.
My teaching style with my own children is conversational, hands-on, and intuitive. I explore what most captures their attention, then weave in the lessons by using any available teaching aids, such as whiteboard drawings, to illustrate a point, literally.

I am very much a hands-on instructor. Long ago, I heard the Chinese Proverb “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” These words embody my personal teaching philosophy. I utilize a varied and balanced set of teaching strategies that will meet the needs of all types of learners. First, I determine the student’s preferred learning style (auditory, visual, or kinesthetic) and tailor my lessons accordingly. I then try as much as possible to make our lessons as relatable to the student’s likes and interests. Let’s face it, when the work is difficult and doesn’t relate to anything practical… what’s the point? When I am able to incorporate real-world examples and applications, students respond and things start to click!

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that every child has a potential to learn. My approach to teaching my students is to patiently study their strengths and to help them exploit those strengths to achieve academic excellence. I show my students how to perform complex tasks using various easy-to-understand methods and subsequently encourage them to independently solve similar problems by using and adapting those methods. I have found that students respond the best to learning if they can achieve confidence in their abilities.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that teaching needs to be fun and engaging for students. If they can touch and experience what they are learning, they are much more likely to remember the key concepts they are being taught. Students also need to be shown how what they are teaching relates to the real world. All of this can be accomplished using research based methods that are proven to be effective in teaching students of all ability levels. All students can be successful in their learning, but each student is unique in how they will be successful. When they are taught using their primary learning style, then the learning process becomes easier for them. As a teacher it is my job to teach students how to be successful both in the classroom and outside.

Since my undergraduate years at Georgia Tech, I have been teaching college and high school physics to family members and friends. In 2009, I began teaching for two metro Atlanta tutoring firms. I specialize in high school and undergraduate physics, but I am qualified to teach algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and pre-calculus.
I first like to explain the tangible concept to students, citing real-world examples. Next, it is appropriate to transition to explaining the details of the concept/equation at hand. Finally, most importantly, I believe in extensive practice of multiple problems. It is especially helpful to show students how to solve problems in different ways which arrive at the same answer. This helps reinforce the concept and practice.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is about action and about the learner actively learning through multiple stimuli. I understand that people have a tendency to learn via seeing, hearing, or doing, and I combine all three while at the same time tailoring the approach to individual needs. I am extremely positive and energetic and love inspiring learners. Often times, to learn about a particular subject, a teacher must first assess what topic--no matter what the topic--stimulates the student, and then proceed to teach the subject at hand via the subject that stimulates the student. For example, teaching math to someone who appreciates music. Or teaching literature to someone who loves to surf the web. Teaching hard core business to someone who just wants to make money!

More About This Tutor...

I believe each student has a mix of individual strengths and weaknesses, some obvious and some hidden, that affect their ability to learn. My objective is to illuminate these academic assets and liabilities so that a parent-student-tutor triad can effectively work to amplify the strengths and mute the weaknesses. My style of teaching is to implement a strategy that focuses on teaching underlying fundamentals, particularly in mathematics. This focus on underlying building blocks not only serves to augment strengths and redress weaknesses in academics, but it is a critical element in optimizing performance on the mathematics portion of the SAT test.

A Little Bit About Me...

Science, and in particular, Biology, has always been a passion of mine. It is my professional goal to increase the science literacy level for my community by sharing my experiences and knowledge with students at the high school level. In addition to completing the course work required to obtain a Biology Education degree, I have taught in a pilot school for a standard based curriculum in which units were presented in nine-week segments, allowing for quarterly benchmark assessment of student achievement. The design was used to support teachers in the implementation of assessments and teaching-learning activities relative to the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).
