I completed volunteer courses in “Brevard Reads” “Rolling Readers” and completed over 150 volunteer hours in Brevard schools while in the major. In small groups we went over elementary math skills, science, social studies, and reading. During my 2009 semester I volunteered as a teaching assistant in a Montessori school for children with Dyslexia and various reading difficulties. I taught one full year after getting my B.A.-teaching english to foreign students. Then left the profession to begin raising a family. Returned 7 years later and worked as a teacher"s aide in elementary school, then specialized for one year in a special ed classroom. Then began substituting in Spanish and French on a daily and long-term contracted basis in the Syosset, and Northport, L.I. school districts.
