Since I myself did not learn the same way as other kids when I was a child, I find that it is easy for me to relate to my students. The best thing a teacher or tutor can do is listen and be patient. Every child can learn, it’s just a matter of how. Many of my students have been hands on learners. Even while reading they had to physically touch something in order for it to make sense to them. I always try to find what fits them best and go with it, whether it’s learning geometry from a skateboard or reading while counting out syllables on blocks. All that matters is that it works for them.

While I was in college I began working as a teachers assistant at a Montessori School, I soon started privately tutoring students after school at the same location. I am a very hard working, organized, and outgoing person. I tutored students in Math, English, History, Behavioral Sciences and also taught private dance lessons.

For five years I taught swimming lessons. While swimming isnotan academic subject, this experience taught me the essentials of teaching. I worked with a large range of ages, from six months to sixty years. While in college I was a tutor/editor in the writing center all three years.
