I attended Whitney Young High School and began tutoring while in school as a part of my volunteer service with the National Honor Society. I continued to teach while in college, and in fact, worked as a tutor part time. After college, I moved to Japan for one year and worked as an English teacher. When I returned to the United States, while attending law school, I was employed as a tutor for the LLM students.
I really love kids and I enjoy working with them. Throughout my years of experience, I have worked with students of all ages, from pre-school to adults. I understand that each person has their own unique style of learning, and I pride myself on being able to reach each student.

In 1991, I earned a dual Major BBA in Finance and Management Information Systems with honors. Concurrently with these degrees and taking 20+ credit hours per quarter, I was tutoring students in Financial Management, Algebra, and Economics. I have spent the past 15 years as an Entrepreneur while I also accomplished getting my MBA from the University of Chicago GSB/Booth School of Business in 2008. A Little Bit About Me...

When I am teaching I am very patient and try to organize the lesson or my assistance in steps. I'll have the child read the problem or question, ask what they know about it, see if they understand the question and proceed. The patient style helps me see what the student's strengths and weaknesses are so I know what they need to practice and focus on. If the child has multiple assignments or tasks I have them perform the more difficult ones first. Starting with the easy assignments may seem like it makes sense but I would prefer that the student have more energy for the tasks they'll have more difficulty with.
