I tutored my high school peers informally (without pay) as the President of the English Club at Guthrie Public High School, but I have recently started tutoring middle grade children as well as high school students. I scored a 31 on my ACT, was awarded the Smithsonian English Award, and I am currently enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma as a Creative Writing major. My tutoring subjects include English, Reading, Writing Skills, and Study Skills for middle grade children. I also tutor for high school students and college students who need help writing essays, research papers, or preparing for the English and Reading sections of the ACT.
I like to bring worksheets and activities to keep the lessons interesting. I also prefer to assign homework, creative writing prompts, and spelling quizzes to improve writing composition and reading comprehension.

Biology Tutor-OKC Area

When you study a biological concept your study process needs to be organized. Most of my tests when I started taking upper level courses covered over at least 100 to 200 pages in the textbook. You need to learn how to break it down in to smaller sections while using your notes from class to predict the most important information to know thoroughly for your next test. I am first and foremost a listener. I'm laid back and patient but understand that success on exams and in school does not come to most without hard work and challenging yourself to go out on a limb. I believe that the best way to learn is to make materials apply to you and things going on around you.
From early on in my high school career I understood that passing AP tests could mean graduating from college in 3 years, saving money for grad school, and a chance to get into the professional world sooner. That's exactly what I did. I had to take some summer school and intersession classes, but I endured. All the while I was involved with an organization on campus that worked to educate the student body on a number of environmental issues, worked with volunteers on events and campaigns, and trained my peers to take the same leadership that I did.
