A Little Bit About Me...

Since I have been around 15, starting with my growing nieces, it has always stood out to me how the child's brain develops. Seeing one of my nieces grasp material quicker than the other. I took up two years of Early Childhood Education in high school as a co-op class and learned a lot about the development of children. I didn't want it to stop there so I signed up for City Year. which is a nonprofit organization which focuses of students in low-income neighborhoods with a high rate of high school drop-outs and our ultimate goal is to work with children so they are on the aim line to graduate 12th grade. A Little Bit About Me...

I work as a math teacher at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. While in college I tutored some of my peers. During my student teaching I was able to work one-on-one with many students in the classroom and I understand the different types of learning styles of students. I have had 5 years of different math classes. I have always passed with either an A or B. Math has always been my favorite subject. I have taken pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, and geometry. Geometry is my favorite because you arent just using regular math skills. It takes a little more thinking amd problem solving but once you get the hang of it, its fun and easy.

Children have different learning styles and every child doesn't learn at the same rate. Teachers must realize this when planning lessons. Students need to know that to have the basics such as a home, a car and food for their family, they need an education.
