In 1982-84 I taught Biology to pre-nursing students while attending school for Commercial Art at Fayetteville Community College. I coached personnel on computer skill (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as part of my daily job. I speak, read and write Spanish, college level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am careful to assess where a child is functioning and start the learning process there. After assessment, I work on fundamental skills while at the same time slowly introducing new skills. I use a review process often so that skills gained are not lost. I like to use creative and fun ways to learn skills when possible.
I began my teaching career by completing a two year course of study in Early Childhood and then worked as both a teacher and as a Director at a Parent Cooperative Day School until my own children were in Middle School. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated and am working part time for a lab while I am continuing my education to get certified as a teacher. I hope to get a position as a biology teacher next year and tutoring would be a good way to get a bit more hands on experience teaching.

I began tutoring Spanish as an undergraduate twenty-five years ago. In college, graduate school and as a professor I wrote literary analyses in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Many of these papers were written from historical, sociological or psychoanalytic perspectives. I taught all levels of undergraduate Spanish, and some graduate courses. I have taught English as a second language. I have basic vocabuary skills in Arabic, Russian and French and can ask and answer basic questions in Russian and French.
