To avoid mind-numbing repetition, I present the material with a combination of text and pictures, then review the material with ungraded short answer exercises ("active learning – I do and I understand"). Then we summarize. I also connect what the student is learning with previous course content to promote learning by association. A Little Bit About Me...

As a creative writing major at school, i was an avid member of our newspaper, serving as copy editor. When i graduated college i continued my summer job as a technical writer at an engineering company. My last position was also an assistant technical writer. Both positions required knowledge of AP style, extreme detail to grammar and an ability to write different styles. After school in between finding career positions, i briefly tutored and substitued as a paraprofessional in the nearby school district.
