My comments on tutoring GED : This is my specialty. I have MANY Books, websites, printouts, etc. to help. I have worked with a dozen students from high school to 60 years old. I can give references. I can help those who have taken the many prep classes offered at high schools and learning centers, yet still failed to pass the test.

I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. In the work world, two have been highly praised for their writing skills. After homeschooling, I began tutoring. I have over 5 years experience and have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults preparing for exams such as the GED. I have been tutoring in various math, elementary, and Spanish areas for 13 years. I have tutored students from elementary school age to adults. I have also tutored students all over the US and in other coutries. I have listed all the areas that I am comfortable tutoring. I am willing to teach in a library, in the student's home, on-line, or in another area that is agreed upon by both myself and the parent. I am open to group sessions, this would require me booking a meeting room in a library, or another location. On-line is preferred if possible to reduce travel time(s), this would also allow me to assist more students in a more efficient way.

I would describe my teaching style as interactive. I use some lecture usually accompanied with power points, but generally those power points include practice reviews with the students. I use games to encourage and reinforce learning, as well as practice tests and group work. Most of my students don't learn well with a straight lecture format so I try to mix it up.
