I have worked previously as an au pair, summer camp counselor (Children's Arts Camp, Theater Pre-Orientation), and reading tutor. I have experience teaching children with various levels of autism and learning disorders. While my primary experience has been with performance arts such as dance, theater, and public speaking, I am also experienced in reading, composition, and creative writing. I specialize in Dyslexia and use the Barton Reading & Spelling System. This program is Orton-Gillingham Influenced and was designed for Dyslexic students. However, it is benefical for other learning disabilities as well. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree, I worked in a Residential Treatment Center for abused children for two years. One year of this experience took place in a classroom setting to assist teachers with behavior issues. Upon receiving my California Teaching Credential, I worked in California public schools teaching in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.
