Experience Summary

After graduating with my Bachelors Degree, I worked in a Residential Treatment Center for abused children for two years. One year of this experience took place in a classroom setting to assist teachers with behavior issues. Upon receiving my California Teaching Credential, I worked in California public schools teaching in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I have experience teaching all subjects, K-12 from homeschooling my own children. For the last 3 years I have been using the Barton Reading and Spelling System to tutor. I moved to Tennessee in 2017 and now hold a Tennessee Teaching Certificate.

Reading
I specialize in Dyslexia and use the Barton Reading & Spelling System. This program is Orton-Gillingham Influenced and was designed for Dyslexic students. However, it is benefical for other learning disabilities as well.
Spelling
The Barton Reading & Spelling System is an Orton-Gillingham influenced, simultaneously multisensory, explicit, and systematic phonics program. This is the program I use to help students with reading and spelling difficulties.
