Applying the proper "learning process map" is essential for a student's success in learning and retaining information related to any subject: 1. Understand the application of a problem being presented to the student. 2. Apply and retain a simple set of steps required to solve the problem. This is essential to the students learning success. Many students first attempt to focus on a single problem without an understanding that the basic steps to solving the problem are the same. 3. Once the student has understood and retained step 2, then begin to present the student with numerous example problems to solve that present the same basic steps regardless of the appearance of the problem.
