I love to work with children of all ages and genders. I have worked with children who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities as well as children of all ages, races, and genders. I attempt to make learning as fun and relevant to the child as possible as every child has varying levels of understanding and concentrations. I am extremely patient and can handle anything. Being that I work in a Title 1 school with a high ESOL population, I give my students as many hands-on experiences as possible. I use a lot of differentiation to meet the needs of all academic levels in my classroom (emergent readers-9th grade level). That might require stacking up 100 pennies to teach about percentages; drawing pictures or graphs to teach how to do words problems in math; or making up short stories using the phonics and reading skills I’m trying to teach.
