Sign Language is one of my top subjects! Two college semesters of ASL, taken with a deaf professor. I have also translated songs for a choir. Although I am not fluent in this language, it remains to be one of my absolute favorites.

I have tutored many young students throughout my life, and have been tutored myself. I do find it easier to work with younger children; however, I am capable of assisting those of high school or college age students who are struggling. I have helped young children learn how to read, write, count, and tell time on an analog clock. Though I do not have strictly professional tutoring experience (I have never been paid for my services) I know how to identify student's learning style(s) and work with them a way that they will benefit from. I believe that children and adult education is extremely important, and I can also assist those of any age who would like to learn to read and write.

I would say my teaching style is that everyone has the potential to improve and that everyone has the ability to learn. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! My mom and my step father are both deaf and my real father was hearing. So growing up I learned sign language along side with learning english. I have almost always interperted for my mother and step father in many situations.

In American Sign Language I was raised learning English along with American Sign Language so I could speak to both of my parents. As my dad is hearing and my mother has been deaf since birth. Once my parents divorced I moved to Texas with my mother and step-dad, who is deaf as well. Being in an all deaf house American Sign Language was my only way of communcation with my parents. I am extremely fluent in Sign Language. I would also interpert for my parents if needed in multiple places and multiple situations. A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach children of all ages. I believe it is easiest to build rapport with the student before teaching them. If there is a good relationship between the student and teacher then it is easier to teach and learn. I use different styles of teaching that address all types of learners.
