Passionate Elementary Education Tutor

My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : Creative writing is one of those seemingly soft skills that requires a very specific set of disciplines and skills. I can help with developing those.

I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet.
I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy. I have several year of post-graduate classes as well. I started teaching Graphic Design in 2002, and brought into that Web Design, along with the skills that accompany them - HTML and CSS. I have even designed signs, and love it!

Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I have twenty hours of graduate work in an MFA in Creative Writing Program and a BA with an English Major at Texas Christian University. I have four poetry publications in national magazines. These are "The Driftwood Review" "Puffin Circus" "The Houston Literary Review" and "quantum poetry magazine." Also, I have a short story published in "Descant: Fort Worth's Journal of Fiction and Poetry" in 2004. I know a lot about creative writing technique and methodology. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have been writing fiction for 25 years.

My style of teaching is real-world understanding and application firmly based on theory. In other words, I teach how to accomplish each element, but why it is important to do so. In my instruction, I establish goals and create achievable steps for the student to follow in order to achieve those goals.
