I am a certified Elementary School Teacher with teaching experience in public, private,and boarding school. I have over 30 years' experience in teaching and tutoring. I have experience as a Science and Montessori teacher. I have taught all subjects on the Elementary school level. I have a lot of experience in Reading and Phonic. I am a calm, caring and experience teacher. I make learning fun and easy to understand. I like to teach in a hand-on method and have student's participate in their learning. While I am most comfortable with high school students, I have great communication skills and can work well with all children. I spent one year as a day to day substitute teacher working all over York County in various special education classrooms. My second year was spent as a long term substitute at an alternative high school for boys where I taught all subjects. My third year I started teaching Specialized Preschool and did this for many years until I retired last year. My students had many exceptionalities. I had typical students visit my classroom every week to read to my students. I did leave Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 one year to teach in Baltimore, Maryland. I taught kindergarten-first grade to children with Autism and speech issues. I have 3 grown children of my own who I helped in school. I have a very hands on approach because I worked with small children. I believe children learn by doing. If they are interested, you won't have behavior issues.
