I have taught in the Mukilteo/Everett area for 5 years. I have worked as a special education teacher for students who spend most of their time in a general education classroom. My experience and background focuses on math, reading, writing/spelling, social/emotional, and behavior skills. I knew I wanted to teach at grade 5. All my education from that time on was directed to become a teacher. During my graduate work at the University of Oregon I majored in Reading. It has become my passion to help all students love reading and become comfortable reading. This passion has been driven by the fact that I am dyslexic and understand how difficult it is to not be able to read well.
