A Little Bit About Me...

1994-2000 Wagoner Middle School Subjects taught: 8th grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 2002-2010 Coweta High School Subjects taught: Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus 2010-present: Tulsa Technology Center Math Specialist I have also taught ACT prep workshops as well as math related to construction trades. I was selected as Teacher of the Year at Coweta High School in 2005 and served as the math department chair.
I am offering online tutoring and will work with each student to determine what will work best for him/her. I am very patient and break down things so even the most complicated math topics are easy to understand.

I started tutoring part time in 2004 and have continued this throughout college. I worked as a math tutor for tulsa community college part time during the summer. I have earned over 190 hours of college credit, I have two degrees, and I am only 15 hours away from a chemical engineering degree.
I am very adaptive to students learning style. I usually spend the first ten minutes of our first meeting figuring out what the student is struggling with and how to best meet their needs. I try to teach students more how to think analytical more so then just solving problems because it is more beneficial to the student. I feel that if I can teach the student how to read theorems, understand concepts, then problems just become easy at that point.

My teaching style is primarily includes me working right along side the student at all times. I like to provide real world examples whenever possible, and firmly believe in using those examples to help the student understand the bigger picture of what they are learning. In other words, I don’t want to simply teach the student how to do the lesson but also why. However, everybody has their best learning style, and I strive to find that in those whom I have supervised (professionally) and taught in a college setting.
