A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher, classroom experiences have made me realize all students do not learn the same fashion. Some students are more aggressive and advanced but there are those who are silent and will not speak out about difficulties understanding competencies. I prefer not to embarrass those students but give them the opportunity to learn one-on-one. While some students have a difficult time with teacher/student ratio, I like to give the option of working with another student who may understand the content and can teach another peer. In addition, students need to connect content with real world examples that I bring to the classroom. Students comprehend what they understand and identify.

As a recent CofC graduate attaining my Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, I have a vast knowledge of Biology and Chemistry courses. I also attained minors in Chemistry and Psychology. In high school I completed Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Biology, English, and Calculus and placed out of 21 college credit hours. A Little Bit About Me...

I am committed to differentiated instruction based on Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences. In addition, for many of my unit and lesson plans I rely on Blooms Taxonomy, in order to reach the higher levels of learning, those beyond knowledge and comprehension. I frequenly use art and social history to keep the subjects relatable for my secondary-level students.
