As a teacher, classroom experiences have made me realize all students do not learn the same fashion. Some students are more aggressive and advanced but there are those who are silent and will not speak out about difficulties understanding competencies. I prefer not to embarrass those students but give them the opportunity to learn one-on-one. While some students have a difficult time with teacher/student ratio, I like to give the option of working with another student who may understand the content and can teach another peer. I use very much praise with students. Materials I use are varied. Books are often used. I ask students what they want to do. As a part of after school lessons I check on what students absolutely should do to meet requirements. Contact is made with other people to inform them of progress if needed.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I especially love teaching them about science and mathematics because I find these subjects so interesting. There are few things more rewarding then seeing it all "click." I like to use diagrams and real life situations to explain subjects. Breaking things down into laymen's terms and reducing intimidation by putting things simply helps most students to grasp difficult topics. I'm a pretty good artist and like drawing diagrams.
