I encourage all of my students to abandon what they think they should know for what they already know, and to take it from there. I am a very patient instructor for adult beginners. I expect progress from all of my students and I set firm guidelines and expections at every lesson. Music students will also receive a solid foundation in music theory.
Education is a very powerful tool. I enjoy seeing students progress from square one to fully capable musicians. I have been teaching privately for the past two years giving private instruction in piano, french horn, and harp. I will be completing my bachelors in music performance from Ohio State this spring. As a business woman of 24 years, I have gained valuable experiences in many different sectors; banking, customer service, marketing, sales, public relations and teaching. I excel in the Marketing/PR field which entails most of the jobs I have held. I also like teaching children. Most of my teaching has been with grades K-8 which I really enjoy. During my years of private piano teaching, I learned so much from the students as far as "teach the child the subject, not teach a subject to a child." Each child is unique and different. I love capturing their attention using fun learning methods.
