I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in political science in 2009. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am now working on my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I worked as an English tutor for international students at the University of Findlay from 2007-2009. I also tutored college students in Spanish in the fall of 2009. I have also tutored elementary school students in English. I studied Spanish in Mexico and Arabic in Jordan. I believe teaching is the key to each child's future. When presented with the chance to succeed, I believe each child will. I believe in presenting each child with a verbal and visual explanation of each objective. I then believe that each child needs the chance to complete a task with encouragement and success before independent work. Assessment should only be taken AFTER a child has experienced numerous chances for understanding, practice, and mastery. Flexibility is another thing that many students are not allowed in class, and I believe is very important to success. This is permitted in my classes on an as-needed basis. As a graduate in Elementary Education, I have taught for 30 years in all subject areas, but have concentrated the last 15 years in the area of Math. I have also tutored students. I have been involved in all levels of education ranging from 4th grade to 8th grade. I have also taught Algebra to students as part of the Mathematics programs, in which I have taught.
