I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience. I guide my students but do not do the work for them. Most students have the ability to learn the material being instructed to them. By being patient, I give the students the opportunity to problem solve on their own, which ultimately builds confidence. With more confidence, students seem to learn better. I believe this is the key to mastering any academic subject. I like to take a holistic view to my teaching style and see what the children need out of a teacher. Sometimes I prefer to work visually and hands on, where other times I feel the children learn best from reading and going through the book. I like to be patient and take a more relaxed approach with children so that they feel comfortable with me. I have worked for the past 6 years with children in school settings. I did a lot of tutoring work during my school counseling internship. I tutored 3 different middle school girls who needed help in all subjects. I also helped tutor 9th grade students who failed all of their first semester classes. I have expierence in classrooms teaching from my undergraduate work. After graduation I decided never to stop studying Law, the Brazilian legal system, different legal systems around the world and international law, both public and private. I became a specialist in tax law, a master in jurisprudence and a PhD in international law. Becoming a professor was only natural and my teasing career began in 1992 or 1993. As a child I learned to speak English and French as well as Portuguese. After that I learned other foreign languages. I am now living in the US and would like to teach again. I believe in education and don't understand why people don't invest more time and resources in education. Educated human beings not only look different but they are different from within.
