Biology and Chemistry Tutoring

Hello, I am a recent UAB graduate. I graduated May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minor's in Psychology and Chemistry. I am currently in the process of applying to dental schools. Although I've had no previous experience as a paid tutor, I often get asked by fellow classmates for help with these sciences. Also I volunteer at an Elementary school in Fairfield, AL through the non-profit organization Better Basics. So I am already accustomed to working/helping younger kids (K-6th) do homework and prepare for tests. My younger brother is a sophomore in high school so I feel capable of helping high school ages as well. As I mentioned earlier, most of my tutoring experience comes from helping fellow college classmates and I am confident I can help you or your child achieve the grades desired, regardless of age.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working, teaching, and mentoring children. I have learned to adjust to the different learning styles of children, which makes it easier for the child to feel more comfortable with learning. In order to work with children there has to be a great amount of patience and concern. I have learned patience through working with children from all walks of life and I have come to appreciate each child's story. I enjoy teaching and the think that every child has the ability to learn anything they want. Through my personal experience, I realize that some people have a harder time learning particular subjects than others. Being someone who has been tutored earlier in grade school, I know what kind of dedication it takes and how great the moment of success can be. I teach using a lot of paper and using many examples. A Little Bit About Me...

I am driven by knowledge, the more knowledge I have the more I can relate to people from all walks of life. I have always been fascinated most by science and psychology. I studied biology, chemistry and psychology in college and earned a bachelors degree in Psychology. Through this I have acquired grammatical skills on how to write research papers and lab reports. I taught a study tactics course for a year and a half that focused on chemistry. This gave me the advantage to not only teach study habits but also help students learn chemistry.
