I have taught private music lessons since 2006. My primary instrument is piano. I have tutored English, Math and Science for the last 3 years. My students have achieved fantastic results. Although I do not teach to tests or scores of any kind, but only to the needs I see in the student, I have been amazed at how quickly t it reflects on their scores, and more importantly, on their self-confidence and motivation. English is my first language and I enjoy the subject, but I love creative writing more. I'm more familiar with pre-school and elementary literature and basic semantics and syntax. Utilizing multiple intelligences to aid in tutoring students is important to helping all students improve their skills in all disciplines. Patience, perseverance and a sense of humor along with supporting not only the student, but the family is very important. Tutoring is a way to address the specific needs of the student when it's not possible to do one on one teaching sessions when the student needs more time on task.
