Certified Spanish Speaking Bilingual Teacher

I am very creative and use that, along with humor and music to keep students interested.
I have been fluent in Spanish for more than 30 years. I was a bilingual (Spanish) 4th grade teacher for the last 7 years, as well as an ESL teacher for kindergarten - 6th grades. For one semester, I taught in a junior high life-skills classroom where we practiced daily living skills and went out into the community so the students could practice skills such as locating items in a store, paying with money, and crossing the street. I have had a passion for education since I was a third grade student. I always thought I wanted to be a teacher "when I grew up." I earned a BA in psychology and started a Master's program in elementary education. Due to personal circumstances, however, I was not able to complete the program. I then taught early childhood and continued to volunteer in schools. I now work in the education department at Bradley University. I miss teaching greatly and have a deep passion for working with children.
