I have worked hard to obtain my duel certification in elementary/special education. I am interested in tutoring because I love teaching regardless of the subject matter. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try several different content areas such as Special Education 7th grade Science in a Push-In model, ESOL, Home and Careers, Career and Financial Management as well as substitute teaching in many areas K-12, in addition to teaching technology in multiple districts. My background as a manufacturing engineer gives me a vantage point of what is required in the real world for success and survival in the working world. I graduated from Mansfield University with a BS degree in Elementary Education with honors. I taught a temporary position in third grade (all subject areas), then was asked by the school superintendent to substitute teach in Junior and Senior High School, and Special Education classes, which I did for four more years before I had to move out-of-state for my ex-husband's job. I just spent the last 15 years working for the NYS Dept. of Corrections in many areas. I gained much experience in all aspects of office work, including computers, writing, people skills, reports, counseling, math,etc. I am currently retiring, and would like a part-time position for added income while I attend college part-time.
