I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and was a software engineer for over 25 years. In 2003, I was certified for Middle School Mathematics in Massachusetts. I have enjoyed being a substitute teacher over 200 days in various Middle and High Schools. I have worked for 20 years in the Awana, youth organization, teaching children from ages 3 through High School. After watching a documentary on teachers teaching in the inner city, I decided to switch my major from Pre-Law to Elementary Education. I've always loved learning and I wanted to be able to convey that same message to my students. In college, I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Psy. of the Exceptional Child. This minor allowed me to study children who are gifted and children with special needs.
